Marion Valeix, Dr.

Marion Valeix is a Researcher at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), based at the Biometry and Evolutionary Biology Laboratory (LBBE, Lyon, France) and a Research Associate at the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU) of the Department of Zoology at Oxford University. Marion has been working on the ecology of African large mammals in Hwange National Park (a Long-Term Socio-Ecological Research site), Zimbabwe, since 2000. Her research, at the interface between individual behaviour and community functioning, focuses on habitat selection, movement and foraging strategies of large herbivores and carnivores, with a specific focus on the role of interspecific interactions (predator-prey, elephant-other herbivores, carnivores-carnivores, and human-carnivores). Her work has many applied aspects (surface water management, impact of trophy hunting).
