|Carles Vilà works at the Conservation and Evolutionary Genetics Group Estación Biológica de Doñana - CSIC Avda. Américo Vespucio, 26, Sevilla in Spain.
Carles is engaged in the research focuses on evolutionary and conservation questions at the population and species levels. I believe that insight into the origin of genetic diversity within and between species, and its integration with ecological and behavioral studies, is fundamental for achieving a deeper understanding of natural processes and for the development of optimal strategies for conservation and management of the biodiversity.
He is currently leading a research line on the diversification and phenotypic evolution in Neotropical amphibians. Carles also investigates the ongoing processes that drive diversity of domestic and wild canids. He studies the evolution of wild and domestic canids, and their interactions on each other.
